PORTA ROMANA...trattoria

Very good food!:) we enjoyed the stay.

I really liked the high quality of food and the service so quick and welcoming. We enjoyed a choice of calabrian cheese, ham and salami,calabrian olives as a starter, together with various kind of grilled vegetables, fried rice balls that are called "arancini", home made pasta with a sauce made of cod fish and chickpeas and many other dishes. After you visited the precious and ancient Rossano Bible, you have to stop and eat here :)

This restaurant is excellent! It is well located in the old city of Rossano and serves wonderful local food. Make sure to order the antipasti platter, we got 9 types of dishes, which were truly delicious! We continued with a secundi dish of good fish and ended the meal with a wonderful panna cotta, topped with sweet sour berry jam. It was one of the better meals in our trip!

Great food, ambiance, and service. Price-quality is excellent. We had a nice dinner on the upstairs terrace, while the waiters were taking great care of us.Antipasto rossanese was almost too much, we ordered a single portion which was more then enough for both of us. The pasta, steak, and also lemon sorbet; all very tasty.

We were recommended to this restaurant from our accommodation in Rossano, we were there on a quiet night, so we were well looked after by Pino. He was patient with my terrible attempts at Italian and Google translate, but we found ourselves with an amazing red wine to match our meals perfectly with an incredible view from the terrace. Our meals represented an awakening of what real and authentic Italian food is, full of taste, sizeable portions and beautifully balanced. Along with the bread we were quite full, that’s probably due to the 9 dish antipasto platter, which is the recommended go to.All of you that are chasing Instagram photos in Rome and Positano, you are doing it wrong, genuine and beautiful places like this is the true sense of Italian culture, and this place comes highly recommended.

It was excellent. They were very friendly, the food was great and the trattoria was very cosy.
